# Enabling the Student Score Summary

The **Score Summary** feature allows students to review their answers after submitting an online test. Students get a clear picture of which questions they got correct or incorrect, which questions they received partial credit for, and which questions the teacher has graded or left ungraded.

## **Enabling the Student Score Summary for an Assessment**

The test author can turn on the **Student Score Summary** feature from the **Online** tab.

**Step 1:** [Open the assessment](/v1/docs/navigating-to-assessments).

**Step 2:**Select the **Online** tab.

**Step 3:**Use the slider to **Enable students to view submitted responses**.

**Step 4:**Set a **Start Dart** and **End Date** for the Score Summary window. Test authors can only set the Score Summary window to be within the current instructional calendar year.

The testing window set in the **Administration**tab will not affect the Score Summary window. Students can review the Score Summary even if the Administration testing window is closed.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:**If the option to **Enable students to view submitted responses** is grayed out, a district administrator will need to [enable the Score Summary feature for the test type](/v1/docs/enabling-the-student-score-summary#enabling-the-student-score-summary-for-a-test-type) connected to the assessment.

Once the test author has enabled the **Score Summary** option for an assessment, students can [view their performance](/v1/docs/student-score-summary-the-student-experience) for each item. Students will see their response and whether it is correct, incorrect, partial credit, teacher graded, or ungraded. The student will be able to navigate the assessment but will not be able to make changes to the test.

The student will see their submitted response for incorrect responses but won’t see the correct answer. Reviewing a test will be available to students during the Score Summary window.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** When a student answers an open-ended question, it will automatically be associated with the Ungraded category until the teacher grades the question. Once graded, the question will move to the Teacher Graded category.

Test authors can enable the **Score Summary** feature after all students have submitted their tests. Once enabled, students can review assessments under **My Test Scores** when logging in to Eduphoria. For assessments with open-ended questions, students will be able to see their responses even if open-ended questions have not yet been graded.

## **Enabling the Student Score Summary for a Test Type**

**Step 1:** Click the **Assessments Settings** gear in Aware’s new navigation.

**Step 2:** Select **Configure Test Types**.

**Step 4:**Under **Editor Options**, check the box for **Allow Score Summary for Formative Use**. This feature will be automatically available for teacher tests.

## **Question Randomization and Student Score Summary**

If a test author has enabled both **Question Randomization** and **Student Score Summary** features, students will review submitted questions in the order the questions appeared on the assessment. If students leave the test and return later, the questions will no longer be randomized. This allows the test author to review the test with all students in the order the test author created the assessment.
