# Item Bank Reports

In Aware, an item bank is a centralized repository of questions and resources used to build assessments. Item banks can include locally created items (items added by teachers or district staff) as well as items from purchased or partnered banks (e.g. TEKSready, TEKSbank, Mastery, STAAR Released Tests). The Item Bank Reports feature allows users to generate data reports about the items in the bank, such as the number of items associated with each course or standard or the number of resources in an item bank.

Reports are generated as a CSV file which is best viewed as a spreadsheet in programs like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

## Accessing Item Bank Reports

Users with the **Manage Item Bank** right or the **Edit Item Bank Questions** right can access Item Bank Reports by selecting **Reports** from the **Item Bank** section of the main menu. Then select **Local Item Bank Reports** to open the report template builder.

## Local Item Bank Reports

Choose a report template from the **Select a Report** drop-down menu.

Enter **Start** and **End** dates to set a date range for the report, if desired. If no dates are set, the report is not restricted by a date range.

Then, select **Submit Report** to download a CSV file containing the requested information. The file automatically downloads to the default location in the file manager on your device.

Comma-Separated Values, a file format used for importing and exporting data, particularly in educational assessments. Spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets are commonly used to read and edit CSV files.
