# Understanding the Life of a Course

## Create the Course

- Enter course title, description, and credit information.
- Enter dates for publication, registration, and course completion.

## Publish the Course

- Staff members can view the course, but cannot register.
- The course is published based on information provided at course creation.

## Begin Registration

- Staff members can register for the course.
- If the course is full, staff can register with a pending status.

## Instruct Course

- The instructor begins the course.

## Take Attendance and Open Surveys

- The professional development administrator or, if permitted, the course instructor can take attendance.
- Surveys (if required) can be opened during or after the course.

## Mark Course Complete

- The professional development administrator marks the course as completed.
- Staff members receive credit after completing activities or submitting a survey.
