LaTex Equation Editor
LaTex equation editor created by CodeCogs replaces the older Equation Editor in Eduphoria. Follow the instructions below to use the equation creation and editing tool.
Using LaTex Equation Editor for Tests in Aware
Link to the CodeCogs simple equation editor.
Using the CodeCogs equation editor is a lot like using the Eduphoria equation editor. Type your numbers and select from multiple options of symbols to create an equation.
Once you have created your equation, you have two options for getting the equation into your test in Aware:
Option 1 - Saving and Inserting the Image
The downside to this option is the image tends to be a bit blurry in comparison to the rest of the text on the test document.
Saving the Image
- In the CodeCogs equation editor, click on the hyperlink, "Download Image (GIF)"
OR
- Right-click on the image below the equation editor
- Save Image As…
- Save the image to your desktop
Inserting the Image
- In Aware, click to edit your question
- Select where you want to insert your image
- Click on the Insert Image icon
- Choose and upload your equation image
- Click Save
Option 2 - Typing the CodeCogs Equation Code into Your Test Question
This option can be a bit more complex, but will give your test booklet better visual quality.
- In the CodeCogs equation editor, copy the text code in the text box
- In Aware, click to edit your question
- Select where you want to place your equation
- Before pasting, type \(
- Paste your equation code
- After pasting, type \)
- Click Save
The backslash and parentheses create an opening and closing for the code, telling the software to display the equation instead of the pure text.
