Modify Course Settings
- Select a course to modify under Course Management, Courses and use the keyword or date search to find your course.
- Click the Setup tab for the course to view the Course Description and Credits & Categories sections to be completed.
Course Description: This section allows you to change and enter the title & description, sessions & locations, publication date, registration date, survey enabling date, instructor(s), course manager(s), course survey, course dimensions (linked to frameworks), linked courses, and course restrictions.
Credits and Categories: This section allows you to enter the credits awarded upon completion as well as the course categories associated with the course. You can also associate campus and district goals, add stipends (if enabled).
Course Description
Course Credit: Enter the values that specify what credits will be awarded for attending a course. Different values for any number of credit types can be entered as needed. Decimal values are also allowed. Elective Credit: Can be entered allowing staff to choose which credit they want to receive upon course completion. Choose from the drop-down window how many credits to be allowed as elective credit. Elective credit is awarded in addition to regular course credit. Course Categories: Applies the filters in the Strive Professional Development tab to sort courses by categories. You can select any combination of standard or group categories to display this course. Course Goals: Allows you to specify which district and campus goals should be associated with a course. Any number of goals can be selected. |
Course Stipends
Course Stipends can be added and managed if enabled under General Options.
Stipends can be awarded to course attendees and/or instructors. Enter the value into the specified field.
If no stipends are applicable to the course, simply leave the values set to $0.00.
Options
Stipends can be awarded to attendees when credit is earned.
OR
Stipends can be awarded to attendees when they choose the selected elective credit. Choose from the drop-down list which elective credit warrants the set stipend.
Managing Stipend Awards
Clicking on the Manage Stipend Awards icon will open a window with a list of stipend recipients. The blue-shirted icon represents the instructor, while the red- shirted icon represents a course attendee.

- If a user is set up as an instructor who will receive a stipend and that user also registers for the course and opts to receive the attendee stipend, the system will only award the instructor stipend and not the attendee stipend on the Manage Stipend Awards report.
- An attendee will appear on the Manage Stipend Awards report if s/he selects the elective credit tied to the stipend BEFORE the course is marked complete.
- If an attendee fails to choose the stipend option from the elective credit choices when registering for the course and the course is subsequently marked complete, then the participant will not appear on the Manage Stipend Award report.
- WORKAROUND: If the course is marked complete before the attendee chooses the stipend elective credit, then the course manager can
- Manually REMOVE credit
- CHANGE the credit to a Custom Credit tied to the stipend
- GRANT Attendee Credit so the attendee will appear on the Manage Stipend Award report.

Printing the Spreadsheet will export the following data:
- Name
- Staff ID (SSN or Local) if part of user profile
- Course Title
- Stipend Type
- Amount
- Paid Status
- Course Date
