Linking an Existing Resource

If you need to add a resource to a course, unit, or lesson and the resource already exists in Beacon, you can link it. This is helpful when:

• You created the resource before creating the course, unit, or lesson.

• Another user created and shared a resource that you want to use in your course, unit, or lesson.

• You want to use the same resource across multiple courses, units, or lessons.

Quick Guide

1. Open the course, unit, or lesson to which you want to add the resource.

2. In the Resources section of the Relationships panel, select Add.

3. Select Link Existing.

4. Choose the resource you want to link.

5. Select Link Resource.

Step 1: Open the course, unit, or lesson to which you want to add the resource.

Step 2: In the Resources section of the Relationships panel, select Add.

Step 3: From the resulting drop-down, choose Link Existing.

Step 6: Select the radio button for the resource you want to link.

Step 7: Select Link Resource. to confirm your selection. The resource appears in the Relationships panel.
