Navigate to the Item Bank settings gear to set up item bank access at the local level.
Set Access Method
Select Set Access Method from the Item Bank settings gear drop-down menu. Select the checkbox next to staff members may contribute to the local item bank. Click Change to enable. By default, all items will be submitted for review and publication within the local item bank.
Select the checkbox next to questions contributed by staff members are automatically approved if you do not want to enable a local item review process. When this box is checked, items submitted by teachers will automatically be added to the local item bank.
Set Default Security
Select Set Default Security from the Item Bank settings gear drop-down menu. Use the item bank tabs to set security options for available item banks. Select the Local Bank tab to set the availability of local item bank questions. Select Save when finished.
Select the checkbox Available for Teacher Tests to give other teachers access to approved teacher-created questions. If a teacher writes a test question and it is approved, it will show up only for that teacher when creating a Teacher Test, even if the security settings checkbox is not selected.
Item bank security is managed at the Item Bank level, not for each individual item. Users will be unable to edit any security settings under the security tab for local item bank questions.
Note: Users with the Set Default Security right can select Remove campus and teacher test access to questions used on district tests. However, selecting this feature will permanently remove access for campus and teacher tests to content used on a district test. This can, over time, significantly reduce the amount of content available for campus and teacher tests.
