Q: I am teaching multiple grade levels but the same subject. I only want 2 entries.
A: You can use the setup wizard for "Create a Course that Mirrors Another Course in My Schedule". First, create the schedule for the course you will be teaching using the setting for a "Course with Learning Standards". Add another grade level as "A Course that Mirrors Another Course In My Schedule" and link them to the same learning standards.

Q: How do I remove myself from someone else's planner? They no longer work here but their planner still shows on my list.
A: You will need to email the person who own the planner and ask them to remove you. The person who created the planner will go to Change My Settings on the bottom left, Share My Planner, then remove you from the list of who they shared the planner. If the person no longer works in the district, contact your district Eduphorian (person who manages Eduphoria settings) to have them impersonate the user's account to remove you from the settings.

Q: I used to see a shared planner but it no longer showing. How do I get that planner back?
A: It sounds like someone removed your access to that planner. Email the original owner of a shared planner. If it was a team planner, contact someone you know who was on that team to have them add you back.

Q: My planner isn't spaced out well. Every day, I have to space it out to work for me. Is there a way to save the changes I make so I don't have to do this every day?
A: Yes, select a day in your planner that is free and make the changes to the template as you need them. Then click the menu tools for access to the More Lesson Plan options on the Entry Toolbar. Select "Set as Default Text for Entry". This will set the plan you spaced out as your default template for that day forward on days that have not been selected before. More information on Customizing Your Lesson Planner can be found here.

Q: I changed grade levels this year and I updated my profile, but my planner still isn't showing the right grade level.
A: Profile settings will not update your planner. The only way to update your planner is to go in and make the changes in Forethought. Go to Change My Settings, select your current schedule and click Remove Schedule. Then click Add New Schedule and follow the process to create a new planner.

Q: I am trying to add a teacher to my Team Planner but we are having trouble. What are we doing wrong?
A: A common issue is the teacher you are trying to add may not have setup their Forethought schedule yet. In order for you to add a teacher to a Team Planner, they need to have completed the process to setup their planner and schedule first. Once they have created a course with similar learning standards as the team planner, they can be added.

Q: I am mentoring a new teacher. What is the best way for us to share plans?
A: We recommend using the Share Planners feature to allow the mentor teacher to share their planner with the new teacher and vice versa. A shared planner allows the mentee to view your plans and copy plans into their planner.

Q: When I change my schedule, why don't all my lesson plans automatically change?
A: When you create a schedule and then click on a day, that schedule is "stamped" onto that day. All of your bold days then have that schedule stamped. When you change your schedule, Forethought does not want to automatically replace your plans with your new schedule. You have to remove the "old" schedule and replace it with the new schedule. You can "Delete Today's Plans," which will remove all plans for that day. Be careful, don't actually delete a day that you have already typed in. The new schedule will be "stamped" into the day.

Q: My Team Planner is not allowing me to add Special Entries. How can I fix this?
A: Team Planners will not allow for special entries; however a new course could be created in the course tree and named "Team Planning". Then any team can add that to the planner as long as they add this course to their schedule in their individual planners. This will allow teachers to customize their planner.
Q: I am having trouble copying a week from my Team Planner to my individual planner. When I do the copy wizard, nothing copies over.
A: When you see bolded or stamped days on the week you are attempting to copy over, the system will not allow you to copy plans onto days that are already stamped or have plans on them. You would need to delete the plans from the days that are bolded or stamped first, and then use the copy wizard to copy over the team planner. Also, make sure the course you are trying to copy over matches to a course you are teaching. The courses need to have the same learning standards in your personal planner and the team planner to copy over.

Q: We use a different tool for creating our lesson plans. I have to copy/paste from it to Forethought. When I do, the text is weird looking and spaced out. What can I do to fix this?
A: Forethought's interface uses web language and some programs don't use the same language. So when you copy/paste, the languages collide and create the strange side effects. To resolve this easily, take what you copied and paste it into a simplified text editor (like Notepad, TextEdit). Save the file as a .txt file - this removes the other language that causes the weirdness in Forethought. Once you have saved it as a .txt file, you can copy and paste the items into Forethought without the strange text side effects.
Q: I will be teaching semester long courses and need to track standard usage separately for each semester. What should I do?
A: The best solution is to plan to edit your schedule at semester. You can add the same course taught and remove the old course. Do not worry, your lesson plans from last semester will remain. Now, the standards can be tracked again.

Q: Should I copy all of my plans from last year to this year?
A: We strongly recommend against copying an entire year! There is no undo option. It is best to copy a couple of weeks at a time by limiting the copy to 10-15 instructional days. As your school calendar differs year to year, students change year to year, it is difficult to consider teaching exactly the same year to year.
Q: How do I copy from my planner to my team planner?
A: There is no wizard for this type of copying. The only way to copy from an individual planner to your team planner is to manually select the text, click copy, and then paste it directly to your team planner. This will not copy learning standards or include attachments. You will have to manually enter those.
Q: Where can I get additional Help or Training for using planners?
A: We have great videos online from our archived webinars on using planners, shared planners, team planners, activities, and shifting plans in planners.
