Student Security in Online Testing

Students Cannot Be Logged Into Multiple Sessions

When a student’s online test is in progress and a second, concurrent session for that same student is detected, the student is logged out of the first session so that only the most recent session is active. Aware always favors the more recent test session.

This feature helps maintain the integrity of the test in a variety of scenarios, such as:

  • When a technical error occurs on the device and the student needs to switch to a different machine to complete the test.

  • When another user logs in to the same account.

If the test is being proctored by a teacher when a concurrent session event occurs, Aware sends an automated email to notify the teacher of the event. This alerts the teacher so that they can assist and monitor the student if necessary.

A concurrent online testing session was detected. A student’s credentials were used to access a test twice at the same time. Aware online testing ends the first session and keeps the second to prevent data loss. Teachers are advised to check in with the affected student.
