  6. Select Create and Continue.

Illustrated Guide

Step 1: From the main menu, select the Item Bank Settings gear icon ( settings ).

Step 2: From the resulting drop-down menu, choose Manage Custom Banks.

Step 3: On the Custom Item Banks screen, select Create Item Bank.

Step 4: Enter a Bank Title. The title must be unique. You cannot use the same title for multiple banks.

Step 5: You can also set the Access Permissions to determine at which levels individuals can use the bank to author assessments. Access permissions can be set for individual items or for prebuilt assessment usage. The prebuilt assessment usage permissions will only apply if the QTI package has prebuilt assessments included. Not all 3rd party QTI packages include prebuilt assessments. Check with your vendor to determine if prebuilt assessments are a part of the package.

For example, if you are setting permissions for individual item usage, if you select District, then you can only use items from the bank in test types designed for district use. If you select all three options, the bank is available for all test types.

If setting permissions for prebuilt assessment usage, if you select District, then prebuilt assessments from this package will only be visible to district-level administrators.

Tip: If you want to review items before making them available to be added to an assessment, leave all access permissions unchecked. Edit the properties of the bank later, then check the access permissions desired to make them visible after they have been reviewed.

Step 6: Select Create and Continue.
