Note: This article is intended to walk users through importing an assessment that was built in ExamView. You must have an ExamView assessment exported as a ZIP file to continue.
Aware test authors can import assessments built in ExamView. Only ExamView WebCT CE 4-6/Visa 3-4 files are supported for importing into Aware.
Before you import an ExamView assessment into Aware, there are a few differences worth noting:
ExamView supports matching items, while Aware assessments do not. An ExamView file that contains matching items will import successfully, but the import will not include the matching items.
ExamView items that import as constructed response items default to a score range of 0-4. Aware test authors can then adjust the score range by editing the test in Aware.
ExamView items that import as numerical response items default to Floating Decimal with Allow negative values selected. Aware test authors can then adjust these selections by editing the test in Aware.
ExamView True/False items import as multiple-choice items with two response options.
ExamView does not have an item type to match Aware assessments’ resource items. Aware test authors can create the appropriate resource items in Aware and link them to the imported assessment items.
