Custom roles allow districts to create tailored sets of permissions that go beyond the default user roles provided by the system. These roles are designed to match the unique responsibilities of staff members whose duties don’t fit neatly into standard categories like Teacher or Administrator.
By assigning custom roles, districts can fine-tune access to data, tools, and functionality within applications like Aware, Strive, and Beacon, ensuring that users have the access needed to perform their jobs effectively while maintaining appropriate security and oversight.
Once you select a custom role from the list, details appear in two tabs:
General – Set the name of the role, a brief description of duties, and whether the role is limited to the user’s school or applies across the district.
Rights – Select which rights are granted to users when the role is assigned to them. Rights are organized by application.
