Scope and Sequence provides an overview of standards coverage across preps for the selected course and date range. Once you select the Date Range and Course, the chart updates to show standards coverage by date. This article details the parts of the Scope and Sequence analysis tool and explains how to understand and apply your findings.
Columns
Each column displays the month and numerical date, abbreviated day of the week, and day of the instructional calendar. Today’s date is highlighted in blue.
Units span multiple columns and are based on the Unit Duration and start date. You can select a unit to highlight all cells matching standards that are part of the unit and display details for all standards in the unit.
Rows
Each row represents a learning standard that the teachers included in their Planners for the given date range. You can select a standard to highlight all cells in the row and display the details panel for the standard.
Cells
Each cell in the table appears a shade of blue or gray based on the percentage of teachers whose Planner content matches the standard for the given date.
For example, if four out of four (4/4) Algebra 1 teachers added standard A.1(A) to August 13th in their Planners, then the cell appears dark blue. If only one out of four teachers (1/4) added standard A.1(A), then the cell appears light blue. Likewise, if no teachers added standard A.1(A), then the cell is gray.
Click on a cell to display the details panel for the specific standard on the specific date.
Details Panel
The details panel displays information related to standards and preps. The information shown varies depending on whether you select a unit, a standard, or a cell.
Header
If you select a unit, the header contains the selected date range and the name of the unit.
If you select a standard, the header contains the selected date range and the standard designation and description.
If you select an individual cell, the header contains the selected date as well as the standard designation and description.
Standards
If you select a unit, the body of the details panel includes all standards in the unit. You can expand (
) a standard to view information about the preps. If you select a standard or an individual cell, the standard appears in the header, and the preps are automatically shown in the body of the details panel.
Preps
Each prep card displays the name of the prep, whether the prep is owned by an individual or a team, and the name of the person who owns the prep. When you highlight a standard or a unit, preps are organized into three categories:
Preps that cover the standard inside the date range. The Planner for this prep includes the standard and it falls inside of the date range that you are currently viewing.
Preps that cover the standard outside the date range. The Planner for this prep includes the standard but on a date that falls outside of the date range that you are currently viewing.
Preps that do not cover the standard. The Planner for this prep does not include the standard inside or outside of the date range. A yellow alert icon (
) appears beside the prep name.
