Student Portfolios help teachers document student learning at multiple points in time. This allows teachers to draw conclusions about student progress and performance as well as plan for intervention and enrichment. Student Portfolios are accessible in Aware and can be linked to Student Growth Goals in Strive.

Accessing Portfolios

To access your student portfolios, select Portfolios from the Students section of the main menu.

Select a portfolio from the list to view it in detail or create a new portfolio by selecting New Portfolio.

Tabs and Columns in Portfolios

To view current portfolios, select the Active tab. You can also view inactive portfolios from previous years by selecting the Archived tab.

Both tabs display the following information for each portfolio listed:

  • Date Created - Date when the portfolio was created.

  • Name - Name given to the portfolio.

  • Milestones - Number of performance checkpoints. To learn more about milestones, see Assigning Portfolios and Scoring Milestones.

  • Students - Number of students included in the portfolio.

  • Actions - Expands additional options, allowing you to Copy or Delete the portfolio.

Table Customization Options

Selecting the three vertical dots beside the column header opens the table controls:

  • Sort by ASC - Arranges the portfolios in ascending order based on the column selected. For example, if you selected this option on the Milestones column, portfolios with the fewest milestones appear at the top of the list.

  • Sort by DESC - Arranges the portfolios in descending order based on the column selected. For example, if you selected this option on the Milestones column, portfolios with the most milestones appear at the top of the list.

  • Pin to left - Fixes the column to the left side of the table. When selected, the Unpin option appears, allowing you to move the column back to its original place in the table.

  • Pin to right - Fixes the column to the right side of the table. When selected, the Unpin option appears, allowing you to move the column back to its original place in the table.

  • Filter - Opens a window where you can create a custom filter to apply to the table.

  • Hide Column - Removes the column from the table. Hidden column can be restored using Manage Columns.

  • Manage Columns - Select the checkboxes for columns you want to show in the table or clear checkboxes to hide columns.
