Sharing a curriculum component gives selected users the right to view, contribute, or own the shared content. For example, you might share lessons with your team to collaborate on your instruction. When you share a curriculum component, the selected users gain access to all curriculum components that exist underneath the shared component.
If you share a course, you share the complete course, including all units, lessons, and resources.
If you share a unit, you share everything in that unit, including lessons and resources.
If you share a lesson, you share the selected lesson and its linked resources.
If you share a resource, selected users only gain access to the selected resource, not to any linked components.
There are three permission levels that you can grant to your collaborators, as well as the option to remove anyone who no longer requires access:
Owner – The Owner has full access to the curriculum component. The creator of a curriculum component is the default owner but can assign the role to someone else if necessary.
Contributor – A Contributor can edit the curriculum component, including adding other contributors and linking or unlinking child components. Contributors cannot add owners, change the visibility setting, or delete the curriculum component.
Viewer – A Viewer can see everything within a curriculum component but cannot make any changes to the component.
Remove – This option removes permissions so that the user no longer has access to the component.
Note: When a user with the Create District Curriculum Courses right creates a new component, the component and all curriculum components that live underneath it are automatically made available to all district users. For example, if you have the Create District Curriculum Courses right when you create a course, you do not need to share the course to allow teachers to use it in their Planners. All users automatically gain access to the course and the units, lessons, and resources that are linked to the course. However, you can share the course with other curriculum creators to allow them to add to or make changes to the curriculum components.
