Axiom FAQ

Axiom is available now for 2026. The district Eduphorian must upload the files listed below and recalculate.

The following files must be uploaded into Aware for the most accurate Domain 1 reporting:

• All SAT data files from Summer 2025 to Summer 2026

• STAAR Alternate 2 2026

• STAAR EOC Summer 2025 Administration

• STAAR EOC Fall 2025 Administration

• STAAR EOC Spring 2026 Administration

• STAAR Grades 3-8 Spring 2026 Administration

• TELPAS 2026

• TELPAS Alternate 2026

• 2025 SDR (SIRS) files for any students taking EOC exams in the 2025-26 cycle

Axiom does not support early files because they do not contain all the data required to calculate accountability.

Previous-year data will become available in Axiom by uploading the STAAR or SDR (SIRS) files into Aware. Data from the SDR (SIRS) files helps to more accurately reflect Domain 2A for High Schools.

If previous-year data files aren’t uploaded into Aware, then Axiom’s prediction will return skewed results.

Users will see a message near the top of the homepage that tells them when the district Axiom page was last updated.

Domain 2a (Academic Growth) is calculated based on two separate scores: Annual Growth and Accelerated Learners (HB 1416).

Annual Growth points are earned based on a student's performance in 2025 and their performance in 2026. Points are earned as student growth is seen, such as if a student went from High Approaches in 2025 to Meets GL in 2026.

Accelerated Learners (HB 1416) will earn points based on a student’s Did Not Meet GL performance in 2025 and their performance in 2026. For example, a point is earned when a student received Did Not Meet GL in 2025 and passed in 2026.

Domain 2b (Relative Performance) has calculation changes for High Schools but not for Elementary or Middle Schools.

For High Schools, Domain 2b calculations scale STAAR Performance and CCMR separately and then average the results.

The Minimum Size Criteria (MSC) is now 10 per the TEA’s 2025 Preliminary Accountability Manual.

For D3 outcomes, the 2025 Accountability Manual proposes a 4-point spread based on proximity to long-term targets.

Axiom uses 2025 Accountability data to calculate the two lowest-performing racial/ethnic groups for 2026. Prior year data for the High Focus group is not available for comparison.

In Configure Schools, you can see columns with drop-down menus holding the lowest-performing racial/ethnic groups. Select the right groups and recalculate.

High Focus is determined by inclusion in one of the groups used for accountability (Eco Dis, Special Education, Highly Mobile, Homeless, Migrant, etc.).

The High Focus group includes unduplicated students. For example, a student identified as Highly Mobile, Economically Disadvantaged, and serviced by Special Education will only be counted once.

In summer 2026, you can manually enter CCMR information once TEAL releases the Final College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Student Listing file in CSV format. The file name ends in the 6-digit district number and looks similar to the following: ccmr_distrct_student_######.csv.

Upon uploading your CCMR file using Configure Schools and the Upload CCMR Data button, you will not receive a confirmation that Axiom has successfully uploaded the file. You can check your data in Domain 3 to see whether Axiom processed it.

Axiom saves the resulting numbers from the file only, not the data from the file itself. After completing the necessary calculations, Axiom erases the file from memory.

Warning: SIRS files are required for all high school students to properly calculate progress for this year. These files are also used to determine which students qualify at high schools for inclusion of SAT or ACT results in Domain 1.

Error: The final STAAR 3-8 file is required to calculate accountability. Without the final 3-8 file, all results will be incorrect.

The Student Growth tables are capturing the correct number of students based on the data imported into Aware, using all relevant accountability rules to identify two concurrent years’ worth of data, snapshots, etc. However, the Student Test List includes more students from time to time because that table serves a different purpose. It is a data exploration tool that includes all potential data that is useful for calculations in Domain 1, 2, or 3. The filters that are engaged when a number is clicked in the Domain 2 growth tables provide a close approximation based on what the student table is designed to provide.

Below are the rules for students that are included in the Student Test List Table:

• Students who received a valid score (pass or fail) on any variant of STAAR assessment in the Axiom date range (between 05/30 of the current year and 05/30 of the prior year). This includes STAAR, STAAR EOC, STAAR Alt 2, TELPAS, and TELPAS Alt.

• Accelerated Testers for SAT and ACT.

• “Absent” or “Other” Score Code STAAR students.

• Out-of-district STAAR testers (pass or fail).

Visit Troubleshooting Axiom for practical steps to resolve inaccurate data. Meanwhile, here are some questions you can ask as you troubleshoot your data:

• Do you have the correct updated data file?

• Do your STAAR/TELPAS data uploads include all students?

• Do your data files have the relevant information? (For example, is TELPAS data included in the 3-8 file? Are performance levels in the 3-8 file?)

• Have you or someone on your team made changes but forgotten to recalculate?

• Is the information on the Configure Schools screen correct and accurate, including the Eco Dis percentages, enrollment, and CCMR numbers for each school?

• Are there new campuses in your district that do not have CDC information in Management?

Caution: Missing CDC information will impact other elements of Aware, including Where They Were views. If a CDC value for a campus is modified, all relevant files will need to be reimported.

Users will use Upload Test Files under the Analysis Settings gear to import STAAR data.

Early STAAR files and CSV file format are not supported. However, STAAR TXT files contain all information for accountability and can be used.

No, the CAF is not necessary and not required for Axiom to work.

SAT files are required for High School Domain 1 STAAR Component scores. ACT data files from Summer 2025 to Summer 2026 are recommended but not required.

Substitute assessments are figured into the Domain 1 calculation at the appropriate grade level standard.

Please note that substitute assessment data comes from each EOC test record separately from performance levels. Students who took substitute assessments have STAAR EOC answer documents with a score code of “Other.” This means that their information will be included in projection numbers but will not be included in student lists in Axiom.

Yes.

Eduphoria will continue to use the Domain 1 Accountability table, but this is not a full accountability prediction report.

Because Eduphoria does not have access to students’ status for these fields, we do not attempt to calculate these values, since they could have a high degree of error. These student groups are only reported in Domain 3 to align with ESSA federal accountability. Axiom cannot be used to predict ESSA federal accountability.

Users with the Analyze Accountability Data right for all locations can view all schools and the district in Axiom. Set up appropriate users with this right in Management.

A user with the Analyze Accountability Data right or the Principal role at some locations will inherently have access to Axiom.

To adjust when a principal may access Axiom, a user with the Analyze Accountability Data right can adjust reporting visibility from school leaders. When you select Hide Report from School Leaders, only those with district-wide rights will see Axiom in Aware.
