General
How can I determine how many department or school documents remain unsigned?
You can run the Unsigned Documents Report in Strive. This report displays evaluation documents that the evaluator has made viewable, but which are not electronically signed by one or both parties.
How do I access Strive on my mobile device?
There is no separate app for Strive in the app stores. To access Strive, open a browser window on a mobile device and navigate to your district website to access your Eduphoria link. Sign in with your username and password. Click on Show Desktop Applications and select Strive.
Where can I find additional information about Strive?
Eduphoria provides articles and videos to help you navigate Strive. Browse through the options below to learn more.
Staff Members
How do I get the right to select my educators? I set myself as Principal in my profile, but I can’t access my educators.
For security reasons, the Appraise Staff right is a Management setting and is unavailable in profile settings. To access the Appraise Staff right, contact someone in your district who has access to the Management tool and can change the rights. Once they assign you the right, you can select your educators. Learn more about which screen users gain access to per each Strive right.
How do I add new staff members to Strive?
To read step-by-step instructions for adding new staff members, see Creating User Accounts.
If the staff member is new to your district, they need to be added to the district Eduphoria account first. Some districts wait until certain contract start dates to add new users. Reach out to your district’s Eduphoria manager for more information.
Ensure new staff members complete their profile setup to appear in School View. District staff members transferring to a new school must update their profiles to reflect the change. Learn more about updating your profile.
How do I remove a staff member who is no longer at my school?
Contact someone in your district who manages user accounts to find out when the staff member’s user account will reflect the change. Sometimes, districts manage user accounts in their own system and wait until specific contract days to remove staff. Learn more about deleting and reactivating user accounts.
I have new staff members who cannot select dimensions when entering a new goal. None of their teacher dimensions show for them to select. How do I fix this?
An evaluator must select staff members and assign them a process to allow them to connect their dimensions. Each evaluator at each school completes this task. Learn more about selecting your staff.
Can a staff member have more than one evaluator?
For someone with two or more evaluators, one evaluator must be listed as the Formal Evaluator by selecting the employee in the School View. Other evaluators in the same department or school can evaluate the staff member, but they are not listed as the Formal Evaluator. Other evaluators must select the staff member’s name on the School View and select the New Evaluation button to access the evaluation templates for that process. Learn more in Creating an Evaluation Document.
Note: Some districts set limitations for what Assistant Principals/Limited Appraisers can access. This role may be limited to viewing and appraising only their formal educators. However, the Campus Walkthrough Appraiser role can complete walkthroughs for all school staff.
Evaluations
Why is the electronic signature button missing on an evaluation?
The electronic signature button only appears once an evaluation is completed and the staff member has viewed the evaluation. When both criteria are met, the electronic signature button will appear on an evaluation. Learn how to authorize electronic signatures at the district level and then enable them in Strive.
There is an electronic signature button, but it is not allowing me to sign the document. What should I do?
Evaluators cannot sign until their staff member has completed their signature or refused to sign. To follow the complete step-by-step guide, see Signing Staff Evaluation Documents.
I made a mistake on an evaluation document and need to fix it, but I already signed it. Can I unlock it and fix my mistake?
If the educator signs an evaluation document, it is locked and cannot be edited. If an evaluation needs to be reopened for editing and the evaluator has not signed, clearing the signature unlocks the document. The educator must clear their signature first to reopen the evaluation. Only the signer can clear the signature. An evaluator cannot clear a signature on behalf of an educator and vice versa.
After both parties sign the document, it becomes permanently locked and cannot be reopened for editing. You must recreate the document as a new document and delete the locked document.
How do I delete a locked evaluation document?
Contact someone with Strive’s Appraisal Administrator role in your district to delete and remove the evaluation document. Learn more about deleting or removing a locked document from a staff member’s evaluation process and using the Document Removal feature in Evaluation Options.
Copying Observation Data
What should I do if my questions did not copy over?
Look at your Observation and Summative documents side by side. If they are completely different, they will most likely not copy.
Make sure that the questions in both your Observation and Summative templates are connected to or tagged to a Framework/Dimension.
Confirm that the text in the questions matches.
For comments to copy from an Observation to a Summative, the Item Name for both Comment boxes must match exactly. This includes spacing and punctuation.
If the Observation Comment Box is named "Evidence 1.1:" and the Summative Comment Box is named "1.1 Evidence:", then the comments will not copy from the Observation to the Summative.
If I tagged my questions in the Observation form, will that copy over to my new Summative form if I create a new Summative form with the Copy feature?
Yes, tagged questions will copy over.
What if I have not tagged my forms to the framework dimensions? Can I still do that?
Yes, you can go in and tag your questions to the dimensions at any time. The system saves the form automatically as you work.
What happens if I remove the existing Summative document and someone has used that form to do a Summative?
If you remove a Summative document from the process and Summative documents have already been created, those documents are moved to the Other Documents section.
How does the data copy from the Observation to the Summative?
An algorithm matches data based on the question type, tagged dimensions, and matching text.
First, the logic looks at the question type, such as the number of columns for a matrix question. Next, the logic looks for tagged dimensions. Lastly, the logic looks for matching text.
Will the system copy comments and ratings from another administrator or only the evaluator of record?
Regardless of who created the Observation, it will copy any rating or comment into the Summative.
