The purpose of goal setting is to authentically engage in reflection about current professional practice, identify professional growth goals, establish and implement a professional learning plan to attain those goals, and track progress over time. Professional goals exist in Strive and allow editable access with continuous dialog between appraiser and appraisee until the goal is marked complete.
Ideal Life of a Goal in Strive
Quick Guide:
- The appraisee creates a goal.
- The appraisee submits the goal for approval.
2.a. (Optional) Both appraisee and appraiser dialogue in the Messages section of the goal
2.b. (Optional) The appraisee edits the goal based on feedback and resubmits the goal for approval. - The appraiser approves the goal.
- The appraisee satisfies individual actions and attaches evidence.
- The appraisee marks the goal as Complete.
- The appraiser and appraisee reach a consensus, and either party archives the goal.
Note: A History section will appear on the goal after a teacher/user resubmits a previously approved goal. The teacher/user can edit the goal and resubmit it indefinitely throughout the life of the goal until it is marked complete. Goals become uneditable after they are submitted as complete.
