In accordance with the TEA SLO requirement, Student Portfolios in Aware provide easier access for teachers to track student growth using Student Growth Goals. Below, teachers can find guidance for setting up Stive to allow Aware’s Student Portfolios to access Student Growth Goals as well as how to track student growth in Aware.
Setting up Strive Access
In Strive, the only requirement for connecting Student Growth Goals to Aware's Student Portfolios is to create an evaluation task tied to Eduphoria’s Student Growth Goal feature. If you are planning to use a document for gathering student growth goals and not our Student Growth Goal feature, the connection feature between Aware and Strive will not work.
Step 1: In Strive, click on Settings, then select Appraisal Settings.
Step 2: Click on Appraisee Types, then select a teacher appraisee type. If you require Student Growth Goals to be attached to multiple teacher types, these steps will need to be manually completed for each teacher type.
Step 3: In the Evaluation Process Template for the selected appraisee type, select the appropriate SLO task to update.
Step 4: Under Process Task, select the drop-down menu beside Task Type and choose Student Growth Goal from the options listed. A title, due date, and number of required documents can also be assigned. Select Save when finished.
Step 5: Select Update Existing Process Instances. A warning message will pop-up requesting consent to make final changes to the selected teacher appraisee type.
Note: Choosing to Update Existing Process Instances could potentially cause data loss if questions were deleted/moved. Be sure you wish to update before proceeding.
Setting up Aware Access
Aware requires no additional setup to use the Student Growth Goal feature. Student Portfolios are currently available for teachers to select in the Analyze tab in Aware. Teachers will be able to create Student Portfolios as well as edit milestones and assign scores to students once student rosters are uploaded and made available. After a teacher has created a Student Portfolio, they can also attach the portfolio to a Student Growth Goal within Strive.
